Alec Baldwin worries ‘SNL’ impression makes Trump ‘too cuddly’

Alec Baldwin has some concerns about his Emmy-winning “Saturday Night Live” character.

The actor, appearing on WNYC’s Here’s the Thing podcast with guest Bernie Sanders, said he worries about turning President Trump into a joke.

“In terms of Trump, do you think we’re making him kind of too cuddly and too funny and we’re taking people’s mind off something really more serious?” he asked the senator.

Sanders, however, said people should focus on “what he is doing” rather than the “absurd” things the President says.

Baldwin won outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series for his role as Trump on “Saturday Night Live” last month.

“At long last, Mr. President, here is your Emmy,” he said during his acceptance speech.

Baldwin returned to the role for the season premiere of the late night sketch comedy on Saturday.
