Hugh Hefner died last week after suffering from cardiac arrest and experiencing respiratory failure, according to reports.
The Playboy founder’s death certificate classified E. coli and Septicemia infections as contributing factors in his death as well, E! News reported.
The particular strain of E. coli he was suffering from had a resistance to antibiotics.
Hefner died last Wednesday, Sept. 27, inside his famed Playboy Mansion. He was accompanied by loved ones at the time of his death.

He was laid to rest next to Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe over the weekend.
Hefner was married to Crystal Harris when he died. She recently mourned his passing in an interview with People magazine.
“I am heartbroken,” she told the outlet. “I am still in disbelief.”
