Jen is an American sports anchor on ESPN. Born on the 14th day of January in 1981, Jen was born and brought up in Chicago, Illinois along with three siblings.

Besides being on ESPN, Jen has featured, and guest starred in a whole lot of other shows such as College GameDay, Mike & Mike, Baseball Tonight and Sports Center.

Jen grew up in the county of Spring Grove in Chicago, Illinois with her parents and three siblings.

Once, she was asked, how her childhood went to which she replied with a simple and concise “normal”. After this, she elaborated that she had seen many of her friend’s parents getting divorced. After recalling their misery, Jen said that she was thankful to God for her “normal” family and childhood.

Jen developed a keen interest in journalism in her childhood, when she attended Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Illinois. She was also known to be an excellent cross country runner and was a standout on the school’s track team.

It was because of her athletic prowess that she got into Marquette University with a scholarship. She attained her degree in Broadcast Electronics from the University.

During her college years, she worked with the University’s local paper.

She was also affiliated with a sorority house during her college years. She enjoyed sorority a lot as she once said:”It didn’t make me homesick.”

Jen’s Career and Salary

Jen Lada has a rag to riches story, about her career and life in general. She started off her career by working as a waitress.

She then got a job as a reporter for a Fox affiliate at Milwaukee. During this appointment, she became well known for her love for sports despite the fact that she was just a general reporter.

Jen Lada then moved back to Chicago after landing a new job at Comcast SportsNet. She was in charge of covering NFL’s Chicago Bears and MBL’s Chicago White Sox at her new position.

Jen then started appearing on various ESPN Radio shows while still being employed by Comcast. One of the radio shows which everybody loved her in, was the one with Mike Golic and Mike Greenburg.

The lads at ESPN finally spotted talent at their Radio shows and hired Jen, full-time.

Since then, Lada has come a long way up the pecking order.
She is currently their lead host. She also features in some of their most popular shows such as College Gameday and Baseball Tonight.

Jen has contributed an awful lot towards the development of ESPN’s digital platform.

All her achievement aside, she has often said that this job at ESPN is her dream job. Some say that this is the most significant reason for Lada’s meteoric rise in the sports information and broadcasting industry.

Jen is married to former ESPN anchor Dario Melendez. The couple has a son together, Chase.
