John Stamos is working on his own full house.
The 54-year-old actor is going to be a dad for the first time as his fiancée Caitlin McHugh is pregnant, People reported.
“We have the same morals and the same values, that all clicked nicely. So we said, ‘Oh, well, maybe we should have a family,’” he told People.
He added that his soon-to-be wife suggested that maybe they should have a kid before tying the knot.
“I said, ‘Why?’” Stamos recalls, noting his 31-year-old fiancée responded, “Because you’re old.”
Stamos and McHugh became engaged in October after the “Full House” star proposed in front of the castle at Disneyland.
The couple had been dating for nearly two years when he popped the question.
“I asked…she said yes!… And we lived happily ever after,” Stamos captioned a drawing of them both at Disney.
‘Full House’: Where are they now?
Stamos told People that he learned of McHugh’s pregnancy before he proposed, but knew he wanted to marry her anyway.
“The [PREGNANCY]happened. Then I said, I better have a ring on her finger because it’s the right thing to do,” he said.
As for being prepared to become a dad, Stamos said he’s had some practice.
“I’ll be a fun dad. I’ve been practicing for a long time,” he joked. “I’ve done every shtick you can do with a baby on TV … all the bits and jokes and diaper gags. I’ll probably just do all that stuff.”
