No Miguel Sano for Twins in wild-card showdown vs. Yankees

Slugger Miguel Sano, who had just returned late in the year after missing 38 games with a stress reaction in his left shin, is not on the Twins roster for Tuesday’s AL wild-card game.

Sano hit 28 homers for Minnesota in 114 games during the regular season.

He struggled upon returning from the injury, going 1-for-8 with three strikeouts in the final three games of the year.

For the Yankees, the only move of note on the wild-card roster was having CC Sabathia over Jaime Garcia. Sabathia just pitched Saturday, but the Yankees could potentially use him to get one out or if there is an long, extra-innings game.
