Frank Castle won’t be revisiting the Big Apple any time soon.

Netflix and Marvel have announced in a joint statement that their gun-toting vigilante character will not be appearing on Saturday at New York Comic Con in the wake of the tragic mass shooting massacre in Las Vegas.

“We are stunned and saddened by this week’s senseless act in Las Vegas. After careful consideration, Netflix and Marvel have decided it wouldn’t be appropriate for Marvel’s The Punisher to participate in New York Comic Con. Our thoughts continue to be with the victims and those affected by this tragedy,” the statement read.

The “Punisher” set to stream on Netflix follows the violent exploits of Frank Castle, an ex-soldier bent on wiping out the criminal underworld, usually with a great deal of gunfire. Prior to the cancellation there were hints the  premiere date would be revealed at the Saturday panel.
