Renee Fleming is the first opera singer ever selected to sing at the NFL’s championship game.
diva – give me a break – she is FANTASTIC and a first rate musician.
^.^ Now I’m no expert, but I would hazard a guess that there is no such
thing as “just” a performance at the Met, no matter how many you’ve done
They should have gone with the trumpet guy!
Looks to be interesting to say the least. First comment and view btw. Your
Love this choice! The national anthem is going to sound amazing.
she did a great job
So refreshing :)
Obviously she will do well, it will probably be very boring however.
Trash voice she’s ugly sounds terrible
Only marc Anthony do justice to national anthem.you no need high notes or
powerful voice, you need only passion and patriotisum.marc has it.
I prefer people who have classical music training over average popstars to
sing the national anthem. That’s why I think Renee Fleming is one of the
best choices I’ve ever heard of for the national anthem.
Just because she is a Opera Singer doesn’t mean she will go full out at the
NFL. If she can memorize a 3 hour opera concert, I think she wont mess up
on the National Anthem. Great pick for the 200th Anniversary!
Great Opera Diva! Good for Renee and the National Anthem!
Yes at last!! Will deliver and hit the notes and won’t forget the any words
and will do it effortlessly! Long live the Diva-Renee Flemming!!
She was sensational and I was touched by the fact Renee’ who has sung
before kings and queens of Europe, looked amazed at the response of what
I call the “common folk” in the stands. The ovation was tremendous she
certainly earned the RESPECT of the people………I love her………
Classical crossover artist Jackie Evancho sings the anthem @ the
Thanksgiving day game and now opera diva Renee Fleming @ the Super Bowl
giving our national anthem the proper respect and dignity it is due. Is
someone @ NFL headquarters finally growing a brain? Hope so.
I am an opera singer and I’ve sung the National Anthem many times for a
variety of events. Trust me, compared to the majority of operatic arias, it
is a walk in the park!
This is going to be one of the few times I will actually leave the TV on to
watch and look forward to listening. Renee Fleming is unbelievably good.
Words fail to express how good. Some of these reporters act as if this is a
stretch for her.. Obviously they know very little about her skill,
background and experience, or the difficulties of performing operatic
arias. Wish sporting event organizers chose classically trained vocalists
all of the time. Anything else is a step down, frankly.. And that Rosanne
Barr episode from years back was horrid and disgraceful.
Super Bowl Sunday! Opera singer Renee Fleming is going to sing the National
Anthem….Good vibrations or not?
Rob Mathes arranged the Star Spangled Banner for Renee Fleming for Super
Bowl 2014. Rob Mathes has written and arranged for the National, Detroit,
and LA Symphonies as well as Sting, Springsteen, and Beyonce.
Her voice sounds hideous worst pick ever
High time that a great and magnificent soprano like Renee Fleming does the
honor. She’s an American treasure and personifies the word “diva” (this
word has been used to describe no-talent wannabees for years) in it’s
original context. Most of the “singers” who have performed this have been
crap. It’s a tough song with close to a two octave range, and Miss Fleming
is the one to command it. Every time I hear that horrendous Rosanne Barr
version, I cringe!
I cannot wait for this! Will be amazing.
Finally! This is going to be so great! =D
I’m sure she will do great but I would have picked “Duck Dynasties” to sing
SO bummed. Was SO hoping for another jigaboo to ghettoize the National
Anthem as they always do.
I think she will be the best ever to sing the NA for Super Bowl. She will
do it right!
Opera singer? C’mon wtf that’s bullshit fuck that.
Ha, she’s at least a million times more gifted and talented than all those
She’ll do brilliantly!!!
.. and it’s being sponsored by Mrs. Budd’s Pot Pies ….
